For day 18 of the 2015 Platform Challenge, the task is a daunting one. We need to contact an expert (in the field of writing and publishing) for an interview post to be featured on our blog.  You can check out the details here:  http://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/there-are-no-rules/contact-an-expert-for-an-interview-post-day-18-of-the-2015-october-platform-challenge

Wow! It has been so many years since I interviewed anyone. I need to go back through the file drawers in my mind and pull that skill set out of mothballs!

I need to perform the following steps:
Decide on an expert. Track down their contact information.
Think of some questions *before* contacting the expert. (It would be rather embarrassing to contact someone, have them say yes, and then not be able to come up with any intelligent questions for that person!)
Contact them.
Wait.
Receive response.
Repeat above steps as many times as necessary to secure an interview.
Send the subject the list of questions.
Wait.
Receive response.
Edit it into a good blog post.
Post.
This is not something that can be done in a day…maybe not even a week or a month! But I will definitely start working on it.

*Runs off to see who is good “expert interview” material and might actually say yes*

Feel free to stop back from time to time to see if I can complete this task. I’ll keep the porch light on for you.

  1. Good luck with that Marge. Sounds very interesting though – Lennie was the expert at interviews in his day, that was his job – personnel manager ! Hope you get someone interesting to answer you very soon – looking forward to next instalment. xx

    1. Thanks, Mary! I’ve already e-mailed someone, and I am hoping he agrees to the interview. He’s very interesting, and I think my readers would enjoy him a lot.
